Castell is a noble crown and bridge alloy. Although it contains just 20% gold, customers report that it looks as if it contains about 40% gold. That's because Castell's chemistry is based on the gold-palladium-indium system. Palladium and Indium enhance the gold color of the product, making Castell a rich-yellow alloy that's corrosion resistant, tarnish resistant, and very economical. Moreover, Castell has a low density, which means there are more castings per ounce.
