[ Finishing and Polishing - Crown and Bridge Alloys]
Always use light pressure and low speeds.
Pre-polish with a fine grit rubber wheel.
Use tripoli compound on a soft or medium felt wheel or a soft bristle brush.
Polish with rouge on a rag wheel, soft bristle brush, or chamois.
Ultrasonically clean in water or denatured alcohol for five minutes.
Final polish with a tin oxide/alcohol slurry or dry tin oxide on a soft bristle brush.
Buff with a clean rag wheel.
Notes
High shine, rouge-impregnated wheels and/or points can take the place of Steps 2 and 3. Fine sandpaper and cuttle disks can replace Step 1. Occlusal pits and fissures can be smoothed and burnished with a dull #1/2 round bur.
