General Information: Artex® Type TK

One of many units appropriate for use when Rotofix® Facebow registrations are provided for model orientation. Bennett Angles are adjustable from 0° to 20°. The condyle radius is milled to 19mm, and the condylar inclination is adjustable from 15°  to 60°. Condyles are held in their center of rotation by closing the centric locks.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING ADJUSTMENTS

The "TK" articulator (47550) is a semi-adjustable, non-arcon articulator with adjustment settings for Bennett Angle and condylar inclination.

You will need to mount magnetic SPLITEX® plates (46100) onto the articulator prior to using the unit for the first time. (see separate instructions). Axis-related models can then be mounted to the articulator by using a "buffer" plate in-between the magnetic plate and the quick-setting plaster that will hold each model.

"TK" adjustment ranges:

Bennett Angle: 0º to 25º

Condylar Inclination 15º to 60º

Accomplishing settings and movements:

Lateral movement for replication of excursions can be achieved by lifting up the plastic clip (found on the left or the right of the upper arm of the articulator) which holds the condyle ball in its center of rotation. Open up the left clip to allow for lateral movement of the left condyle along its condylar pathway, or the right clip to allow lateral movement to the right. Both clips can be opened to allow for protrusive movement.

Condylar inclination setting adjustments can be made by loosening the higher of the two flat screw-heads on the side of the left and right arms of the unit. Then turn the condylar housing unit to the appropriate inclination setting (determined either by protrusive check-bites provided, or by using average values), and relock the screw-head.

Bennett angle setting adjustments can be made by loosening the lower of the two screw-heads on either arm. Then line up the vertical mark for the appropriate angle-setting (determined by lateral check-bites provided, or by using average values) with the vertical reference line, and relock the screw-head.
