INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING ADJUSTMENTS
The "AL" articulator (48400) is a semi-adjustable,
arcon articulator with adjustment settings for Bennett
Angle and condylar inclination.
You will need to mount magnetic SPLITEX® plates
(46100) onto the articulator prior to using the unit
for the first time. (see separate instructions). Axis-related
models can then be mounted to the articulator by using
a "buffer plate" in between the magnetic
plates and the quick-setting plaster that will hold
the models.
"AL" adjustment ranges:
Bennett Angle: -5º to 30º
Condylar Inclination: -20º to 60º
Accomplishing settings and movements:
Lateral movement for replication
of excursions can be achieved by unlocking the centric
condyle lock in front of either condylar housing to
allow the condyle balls freedom of movement along
the condylar pathways.
Condylar inclination setting adjustments
can be made by loosening the lower allen screws at
the rear of the upper arm of the articulator. Then
turn the condylar housing to the appropriate inclination
setting (lining up the front of the triangular point
with the correct hash mark), and relock the screw
heads.
Bennett Angle setting adjustments
can be made by loosening the allen screw on top of
either condylar housing, and turning the dial until
the white indicator line matches up with the desired
setting. Then relock the screw.
